What you send

When you press Download, your browser sends the pasted URL to ReelFetch so the link can be checked. You are not asked for an Instagram password, an email address, or a profile.

For a public video or Reel, ReelFetch requests that post from Instagram and streams the file to your browser. A larger size may be assembled in a temporary file on the server. That file is deleted after the download is sent. ReelFetch does not keep a public library of videos. Hosting logs can still record ordinary technical details, such as the time of a request.

Rate limiting

The server may keep the request's IP address briefly in memory so one visitor cannot submit links without pause. That memory is tied to the running server process. It is not added to an account, because there are no accounts. A hosting provider may also keep ordinary technical logs, such as the time of a request and the browser type, to operate the site.

Advertising

Tool pages include labeled advertisement spaces. No advertising network is installed in this version, so those spaces do not set advertising cookies today. If an ad network is added later, this policy will be updated, because those networks often use their own cookies.

What you can do

You can use the reading material on the site without submitting a link. If you do submit one, send only the public post URL. A public inbox is not published yet. The contact page explains what ReelFetch can and cannot help with.
